We are continuing to provide standard routine care for patients.

The COVID-19 case definition has been updated. The highest priority for COVID-19 testing are those who meet the Higher Index of Suspicion (HIS) Criteria.

Those with viral symptoms (such as cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of smell, with or without fever) and in the 14 days prior to the start of the illness have had:

  • contact with a confirmed or probable case of COVID
  • international travel
  • direct contact with a person who has traveled overseas (e.g. Customs and Immigration Staff, staff at quarantine facilities.)
  • worked on a international aircraft or shipping vessel
  • cleaned at an international airport or maritime port in areas visited by international arrivals

If you are unwell and meet any of these criteria then please phone our reception to book a phone appointment with your doctor who will arrange COVID testing.

GPs can still order COVID tests for anyone else with viral symptoms at their discretion so if you are unsure whether you need a test then please book a phone consultation with your doctor. If you have a cough, sneezing or runny nose and are advised to come to the surgery then please wear a mask (if you have one) and wait in your car and phone reception when you arrive.

Only those meeting the HIS criteria will be asked to self-isolate while awaiting COVID test results.
